The Practice of Gratitude
Gratitude is the feeling of being blessed and of course, grateful. It's the expression of what I love and am thankful for. It includes family, friends, good health and all the gifts in my life.

Gratitude makes every day sacred - it is the key to living with an open heart. From the moment we wake up until drifting off to sleep, life presents one opportunity after another to be grateful. The daily practice of gratitude will bring your focus to the present and your life will be enriched when it is seen through the eyes of gratitude.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools for creating joy, healing, contentment, spiritual growth and lasting relationships. Each moment of our lives we can choose our attitude and where to focus our attention. When we consciously choose to be grateful, even in times of adversity, our ability to see the good in life is strengthened.

Benefits of Gratitude
Being grateful for what is working in your life actually activates The Law of Attraction. The universal law states that "like attracts like" and ensures that you bring into your experience whatever you are predominantly thinking about. If you are focusing on everything that has blessed your life and makes you feel good, you are going to get more of that.

The results of the study on gratitude indicated that "...daily gratitude exercises resulted in higher reported levels of alertness, enthusiasm, determination, optimism, and energy. Additionally, the gratitude group experienced less depression and stress, was more likely to help others, exercised more regularly and made more progress toward personal goals. " - Dr Michael McCollough and Dr. Robert Emmons

The practice of gratitude is life empowering. It can change your state of consciousness. Just remembering to be thankful in the moment can shift or pivot the emotions of fear, frustration, depression, or sadness to a lighter feeling.
